  What is SCRIP?                                        

Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising” Families can purchase gift certificates and prepaid cards for everyday expenses like food, clothing, gifts, and gasoline, and with every purchase earn revenue for Lutheran High Westland and earn tuition credits for a student. Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”.  How scrip generates revenue for you The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of LHW to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers at a substantial discount. Our organization buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value.  The discount ‑ from two to fifteen percent or more –  is revenue for the LHW Boosters and your tuition account. FAQ's Does it cost a family anything to participate? Do they have to sell anything? There are no membership fees or application fees. Our families simply pay LHW the face value for the certificates they order. Some families may enlist relatives, friends and neighbors to buy scrip and credit their tuition account. Can I use scrip to pay department store charge account balances? A few retailers allow you to pay charge account balances with scrip, but generally speaking, most do not. What if I don't want to give GLSC authority to electronically debit my account. Can I pay by check? Yes, you can pay by check. However, GLSC cannot ship an order until payment is received. GLSC cannot begin processing your order until we receive your check. For fastest turnaround, we recommend electronic debit. When will I get my order? Delivery time will vary depending on which delivery service level you choose. All FedEx delivery times are calculated from the time your order leaves our offices, not when you submit your order.

Online ordering          Presto-Pay™ is a convenient way for your family to pay your organization on-line at the time you place your order. GLSC will accept the payment on behalf of your non-profit organization. GLSC will immediately debit your checking account for the face value amount of your order, plus a small convenience fee of $0.39, and hold that payment until your non-profit’s order has been released by your coordinator. Once your organization has enabled you to use this feature, you will notice a message like the one above. Simply click on the link to begin the enrollment process. Carefully read the terms and conditions for Presto-Pay and select “Yes, and I Agree.” On the registration page (shown at right), enter all of the required banking information and click “Next” to submit. At this point, you will need to wait for GLSC to verify the account. This process typically takes one to two business days, but some banks may need a few more. You can still place your order, but must pay by check until your account is completely verified. During the next few days, watch for two small deposits of money to be made IN to the account you have designated. Take note of both amounts and return to your Account Dashboard on ShopWithScrip.com. Notice the message at the top of your screen, “Your Presto-Pay Account has not been verified. Click here to verify.” To continue the verification process, enter the amounts supplied by your bank as deposited by GLSC, and click “Next” to complete the enrollment process.
