• Resurfaced lanes with rubberized material
• New runways and approaches for long jump, pole vault, and high jump

Track Dedication May 10, 2008

The track will be dedicated to the glory of God and named
the Mike Unger Track

May this track be a place to pursue goals, train intensely, and
demonstrate talent to the glory of God.

You Are Invited to a Dedication of the Mike Unger Track at Lutheran High Westland
Saturday May 10, 2008

The dedication ceremony will begin around 12:30 pm during that day’s Track Invitational
held at Lutheran High Westland 33300 Cowan Road,  Westland, MI 48185

11:30  A light lunch will be served in the school lobby.  Please RSVP to 734-422-2090 or mwalker@lhsa.com if you will attend the luncheon.  Mr. Unger will attend.

12:30 (approximately)  During the break between semis and finals of the track invite, a brief ceremony willl recognize Mr. Unger for his years of dedicated service.   
The track will be named in his honor during the ceremony.

12:45 Back to Basics Tours to view the school and hear about the ministry of Lutheran High Westland will be available following the dedication.

Coach’s Dream…Phase 2
Phase 1: The 1996 Coach’s Dream project developed baseball, softball, football, and soccer fields.  The football field is named in honor of Dennis Tuomi.

Phase 2:  With this 2007 track renovation, we honor another dedicated servant by naming the track in honor of track coach, mentor, and teacher,  Mike Unger.
