THE WEEK BEFORE THE TEST

.  Start going to bed earlier and waking up earlier. Make sure you're getting enough sleep every night.
.  Get up early on Saturday and take a practice test. Treat it as if it were "the real thing."
.  Get into a pattern of doing 30-45 minutes worth of ACT problems each day from now until the test.
.  When you practice at home, do so under timed conditions. You want to get the feeling of what it will be like on the day of the test.
Review all the formulas and strategies that you've learned so far.

THE DAY BEFORE THE TEST

.  Don't Study!!!  Cramming at this point won't help.
.  Take it easy and let your brain relax

.  Confirm the exact location of the test center.  If you haven't been there before, make a test run.  Time how long it takes you to get there.  Where should you park?
.
Go to bed at a reasonable hour
.    Set your alarm(s)

THE DAY OF THE TEST
AT HOME

. Eat breakfast.  You want to have the energy to make it through four hours of testing.
. Don't give your body what it's not used to. For example, don't eat steak and eggs if all you normally have is a glass of juice.
.  Wear clothes that are comfortable.  Also, dress in layers. You never know whether the test center will be hot or cold.
.  Take your Photo ID, admission ticket, calculator, and pencils
.  Leave yourself 20 minutes more than you think you'll need to get to the test center between 7:30 and 7:45.. Be sure to get there before 8:00am.  The doors get locked at 8:00am.

AT  THE TEST CENTER

. Leave your cell phone in your car.  If it goes off during the test you will be immediately dismissed.
. Use the bathroom before you're seated. You'll also have a chance to go to the bathroom during the first break (after Section 2).
. Try to maintain your focus and relax. Do not listen to what other people say about the test.

DURING THE TEST

. Focus on what you're supposed to do.  Before you start scribbling away on a problem, take a few seconds to gather your thoughts.
. Don't get stuck on any one question.  You can always go back to a problem you skipped the first time around
.  During the break, walk around to get your blood moving.  Try to get some fresh air
.  If the test seems really hard, stay calm.  The test is scored on a curve.
